Man dead after being struck by train on Lakeshore West GO line

A 42-year-old Burlington man is dead after being hit by a train on the Lakeshore West GO line on Saturday.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. between Appleby and Bronte stations in Burlington.

GO Transit said trains were turning back at Oakville Station for about two hours while Halton regional police investigated.

Service resumed around 10 a.m.

Police said the man’s death does not appear to be suspicious.

They continue to investigate.
