Lockdown lifted at Hamilton high school after phone threat

By News staff

A lockdown at a high school in Hamilton has been lifted after a police investigation on Monday.

Police said they were investigating a threat that was made to Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, located on Rymal Road East near Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway. The threat was made over the phone.

The students were safe and no injuries were reported, police said.

During the lockdown, police said in a tweet that they have not “uncovered any evidence to support threat made earlier to the school.”

Earlier in the morning, students who were arriving to the school on buses were redirected to nearby Our Lady of Assumption.
