A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a crash involving a stolen car near Yonge-Dundas Square.

The crash happened on Dundas Street East at Victoria Street just after 5 a.m. Thursday. The driver of the stolen vehicle was heading west on Dundas towards Victoria when he hit a vehicle that was travelling west.

The stolen vehicle almost slammed into the CityNews studios but ended up coming to a rest next to the building. The teen driver fled the scene.

A CityNews camera was in the area when he heard the slam of the crash and then saw the teen running southbound on Victoria. He immediately notified police who had arrived quickly at the scene.

Police arrested the teen shortly after on Victoria but there has been no word on charges. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sgt. Alex Crews said suspect vehicle was reported stolen in the Toronto area and that officers from 51 Division were pursuing the vehicle when the crash happened.

The two people in the other vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Crews said the driver, a 34-year-old man, was issued a warning for alcohol use and had his licence suspended.

Since the injuries are minor in both cases, the province’s Special Investigations Unit won’t be called in.

Update: An earlier version of the story said the occupants of one of the vehicles fled the scene and police were searching for the second person.
