Signal problems that halted subway service on a stretch of the Bloor-Danforth line sent shivering riders out into frigid temperatures to wait for shuttle buses during Monday’s evening rush.
The TTC said service was halted between St. George and Broadview stations for approximately an hour starting around 5 p.m.
Full service resumed at around 6 p.m.

The timing of the outage couldn’t have been worse as it coincided with the evening rush and a polar vortex that plunged temperatures into minus double-digits.
Footage from the CityNews helicopter showed crowds of people waiting for buses near Broadview station.
It’s currently around -21 with the wind chill — a reality not lost on frustrated riders.
I knew this would happen on the coldest day of the year so far.
