Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Mississauga

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday evening.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. at Hurontario Street and Central Parkway.
Paramedics took the 57-year-old woman to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating.
The intersection is closed for the investigation.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
