Woman, 24, killed after falling into Etobicoke Creek

A woman has died of her injuries after falling near Etobicoke Creek Saturday afternoon.

Peel police were called to the trail between Burnamthorpe Road and Rathburn Road East around 2:30 p.m.

She was reportedly walking with her boyfriend on a naturalized trail in the area when she slipped on a patch of ice that had been covered with a fresh dusting of snow and fell into the creek.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

Toronto police also assisted in the incident.
