Former CFL star Chad Owens is expected back in Brampton court Tuesday on assault charges.
Owens was arrested back in late February, but the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault aren’t known at this time.
He was released on $5,000 bail.
Owens spent six seasons as a Toronto Argonaut and had stints with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
He was most recently a member of the Tiger-Cats, but was released from the team’s practice roster last October, just two weeks after joining the team.
Owens was expected to appear at 9 a.m.
