Police investigate mother, infant stabbing in North York

An infant has been rushed to hospital following a stabbing in North York.

Police say paramedics were called to the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue area around 4:30 p.m. following reports of an injured woman.

Once on the scene, paramedics called police after finding an infant suffering from stab wounds.

Police tell 680NEWS that the woman’s injuries appear to be self-inflicted.

Police say both the infant, who is less than a month old, and the mother suffered non-life threatening injuries.
