Driver sought in Scarborough Junction hit-and-run

Toronto police are searching for the driver after a woman was struck by a vehicle in the Scarborough Junction area on Thursday night.

Police  and paramedics responded to a call for a pedestrian struck in the area of Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East just after 10 p.m.

The woman was crossing the street at a marked pedestrian crossing when she it was hit by a vehicle that was making a turn.

The woman was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. Her injuries were later deemed not life-threatening.

The driver fled the scene. Police are looking for a white sedan, possibly a BMW.
