Man critically injured in North Toronto shooting

Toronto police are investigating after a shooting sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries in the Finch Avenue East and Leslie Street area on Canada Day.

Toronto police are investigating after a man was shot in a North Toronto neighbourhood Monday afternoon.

Police tweeted at around 5:30 p.m. they were attending a report of a shooting near Leslie Street and Van Horne Avenue.

Police said they located a man with gunshot wounds and called EMS.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police added that two vehicles were seen fleeing the area, but whether they had anything to do with the shooting remains under investigation.
