A man, believed to be 63-years-old, is dead and his son is injured after a double stabbing in Brampton.

Peel police were called to a home on Lanebrook Drive near Castlemore Road and Goreway Drive around 2 a.m. Friday.

The father was pronounced dead at the scene.

The son was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds. Police later said his injuries are not life-threatening.

Cst. Danny Marttini said both men lived at the home with other family members and that the stabbing happened on the street.

Marttini said police believe there are “multiple suspects.”

“There were more than one individual[s] involved in this altercation with the two victims; however, we have yet to identify and get descriptions on these individuals,” she said.
