3 charged with attempted murder in Church and Adelaide shooting, 1 suspect at-large

Three people are facing multiple charges of attempted murder and police are on the hunt for a fourth suspect after a shooting in the downtown core on Monday.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Church and Lombard streets, just north of Adelaide Street East, around 4:15 a.m.
When police arrived they found a man lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds.
It’s alleged that a vehicle pulled up to a group of people and someone from inside the vehicle fired several shots. The vehicle then fled the scene.
The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second person was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“We have evidence that the victims that were shot, there was an exchange of gunfire,” Toronto police chief Mark Saunders told the media on Monday as he addressed concerns over the several shootings that took place over the long weekend.
On Wednesday, three men were arrested in connection with the shooting.
Yasin Bassey, 27, Khumane Agil, 40, both of Toronto, and Mohamed Mahdi, 29, of Brampton, each also face charges of unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm and discharge of a firearm with intent.
Saunders said a firearm was also seized by police and that those involved in the shooting were involved in street gangs.
A fourth suspect has been identified as as Hassan Hassan, 27, of Toronto. He is wanted for three counts of attempted murder and a number of firearm related charges.
Police have released Hassan’s photo and are warning the public not to approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
