A 22-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Pickering early Saturday morning.
Durham police said they were called to Altona Road and Concession 3, just west of Whites Road North at around 12:30 a.m.
A person who was on the scene called police. The man was found on the roadway and pronounced dead.
Police interviewed other drivers and witnesses in the area, and determined that the driver of the vehicle who struck the man did not remain at the scene.
Police said they are looking for a dark-coloured 2004 or 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan.
“The suspect vehicle may have front-end damage on the passenger corner and will have a missing front wheel liner or fender skirt on the passenger side of the vehicle,” police said.
