A grim discovery this weekend now has a group of dog lovers and Toronto police on the hunt.

According to a Black Dog Rescue Facebook post this weekend, some joggers came upon a suitcase in Lambton Park near the Humber River in Etobicoke Saturday afternoon, and were surprised to find it moving.

When they opened it, they discovered a dog inside.

The joggers told the non-profit that it looked like the suitcase may had been tossed down the hill above. They also noticed drag marks near the top of the hill that looked like they came from the suitcase and could have possibly come from the apartment complex nearby.

Black Dog Rescue also said it’s believed the female dog recently had puppies and she did not have a microchip. The dog is currently with Animal Services. Police say its believed the dog is a Jack Russell mix.
