Yorkdale’s JOEY restaurant says employee has tested positive for COVID-19
JOEY Yorkdale says one of it’s employees has tested positive for COVID-19.
JOEY confirms with 680News the positive case is an off-site incident.
“We can confirm this is an isolated case where the individual contracted it away from the restaurant,” a restaurant spokesperson says.

“Zero transmission has been detected due to extensive safety protocols in place. The individual last visited Yorkdale Shopping Centre on August 27, 2020.”
The spokesperson says the restaurant was closed on Saturday for a 24-hour period but has since re-opened.

Meantime, the Foot Locker store at Yorkdale is now temporarily closed after additional employees tested positive for COVID-19.
In an email to 680News, the store says: “We are taking decisive actions across the business to help protect our team members and are working with local, government and health officials to assess when we will reopen and safely bring our team members back to work.
“The health and safety of our team members, customers and communities remain our top priority as we continue to make decisions during this unprecedented time.
This is the second time in as many weeks that Yorkdale’s Foot Locker has been forced to close due to a positive test.
