Body found floating in water at Marie Curtis Park

Police are investigating the discovery of a body in the water at Marie Curtis Park.

Investigators say they received a call just before 4 p.m. Sunday from an individual who spotted the body while walking through the south Etobicoke park.

Police say a body was recovered about 10 feet from the shore, however, they would not confirm the age or gender of the deceased until next of kin had been notified.

At this point it is being treated as a suspicious incident while they await a coroner’s assessment before determining if this is a criminal case.
