One man is dead and another has been charged with murder following a shooting in an LCBO parking lot near Danforth Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue.
Police were called to the area around 6 p.m. Sunday for reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Jakub Sudomericky suffering from serious injuries.
Paramedics said they transported Sudomericky to the hospital in life-threatening condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.
It was reported that Sudomericky was inside the store at the checkout at the same time as a woman and a 20-year-old man.
The two men reportedly got into an argument. Witnesses told police the dispute was over physical distancing and that the argument continued outside the store.
Police said a short time later the victim was running through the parking lot and gun shots were heard.
The police service’s homicide unit has now taken over the investigation.
A silver Honda was seen racing away from the scene. Police were able to stop the vehicle and three suspects were taken into custody. A knife and a bullet casing were also found at the scene, police said.
Michael Roberts, of Toronto, has been charged with first-degree murder.
