The GTA will be hit with a bout of beautiful, warm weather this weekend but cyclists and runners won’t be hitting the empty pavement of the Lake Shore.

The City says Active TO road closures will not be in place this weekend.

Eastbound Lake Shore Boulevard along both the western and eastern waterfronts, as well as the Bayview Extension, will all be open to vehicle traffic this weekend for the first time in months.

The City says adjacent trails along those routes can safely accommodate the volume of bikers and pedestrians.

However, the westbound Lake Shore will be down to a single lane between Ellis and Windermere avenues from 9 p.m. Friday until midnight Monday for crane hoisting.

A separate crane hoisting will also shut down a portion of Atlantic Avenue in Liberty Village.
