Man on scooter injured in East York hit-and-run

A man has been rushed to hospital after a hit-and-run in East York.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Woodbine Avenue and O’Connor Drive around noon Wednesday.

Paramedics said the man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered serious to life-threatening injuries.

It appears the victim was riding his electric scooter in the left lane along O’Connor when he was struck by another vehicle.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene. No description of the vehicle has been released.

The intersection is expected to be closed for some time.
