Officers charge former Toronto youth pastor with sexual exploitation

By Lucas Casaletto

Police have arrested a former volunteer youth pastor in Toronto as part of a sexual exploitation investigation.

Officers began investigating last October following reports of a “historical sexual exploitation” when the suspect was a volunteer youth pastor at the Spring Garden Baptist Church between 2002 and 2005.

It’s alleged that during this time, he established a rapport with a young female parishioner and eventually engaged in online conversations where the suspect made inappropriate sexual comments.

Police say the suspect also sent her explicit videos and invited her to engage in sexual activity with him.

On Monday, police arrested 42-year-old Kieran Naidoo of Toronto and charged him with one count of sexual exploitation.

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 2.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with more information to contact them.
