Brampton man charged with attempted murder in alleged stabbing of mother

Police say a 29-year-old man has been charged after an alleged attack on his mother.

Peel police say they were called about a disturbance at a home on Newbury Crescent in the area of Bovaird Drive East and Dixie Road just after 1 p.m.

When they arrived, they discovered a woman suffering from a stab wound. She was transported to a trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition. Police say her condition has stabilized.

Police allege the woman’s son fled the home on foot and was arrested later that day.

On Sunday, Prateek Mann, 29, of Brampton, was charged with Attempted Murder and three counts of Breach of Probation, police said.
