Suspect identified in deadly Etobicoke shooting

Toronto police have identified one of two suspects wanted in a deadly Etobicoke shooting.

Two men were driving northbound on Scarlett Road around 5:30 p.m. on April 3 when another vehicle drove up and began allegedly shooting at the vehicle.

The victims’ car was hit by bullets several times and they drove to 35 Trehorne Drive where 911 was called.

Police arrived and found both men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was without vital signs and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

He has been identified as Habil Abdilahi Hassan, 21, of Toronto. The other man was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Antwan Triston James, 18, of Toronto, has been identified as one of the suspects and is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

A second suspect has been described as a man, aged 20 to 25 years old, wearing light coloured jeans and a light blue surgical mask.

Officers continue to work to try and identify the second suspect.
