Durham Regional Police say two suspects remain at large in a brazen daylight shooting that was captured on video in Ajax last week.
Police were called to the intersection of Kingston Road and Harwood Avenue on Wednesday, April 28, at around 4:20 a.m.
The video shows two people jump out of a black Hyundai sedan and begin firing at a white car that’s stopped ahead of them.
After firing over 40 shots, the two suspects run back to the black car and flee while two injured people are seen running from the white car.
Police say the victims, a man and woman, suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a previous altercation between the two vehicles.
Rashawn Samuels, 26, of Ajax, and Sareena Ambursley Johnson, 24, of Scarborough, were both arrested and charged on April 30.
Police say two suspects, both considered armed and dangerous, remain at large.
They are described as:
- Suspect #1 – Male, Black, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
- Suspect #2 – Male, Black, wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt, light pants and white shoes.
Police say the suspect vehicle was later found abandoned and set on fire in Scarborough.
