The hospital adds they are currently investigating how the virus was transmitted, and they’re working closely with Toronto Public Health. Everyone who was potentially exposed has been notified.
Enhanced infection prevention and control measures are in place in that unit, including testing other patients, staff and caregivers.
On the same day, Ontario reported 2,400 COVID-19 cases, with 1,320 people hospitalized across Ontario. 721 of them are in the ICU.
