York regional police are asking for the public’s help after the body of a teenage boy was found in Whitchurch-Stouffville on Wednesday.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Woodbine Avenue and Vivian Road just before 9 p.m. after someone reported a body in the area.
When officers arrived they found the victim laying in a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 16-year-old boy, however, his name, nor cause of death have been released.
Police said the coroner was called to the scene and deemed the death to be suspicious.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, who have not already spoken with police, to come forward.
As well they would like anyone who has a home security system that may have captured anything suspicious, to contact investigators.
