12-year-old boy shot multiple times near Jane Street and Hwy 401

Toronto police are searching for suspects following a shooting in North York that left a 12-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said they were called to the Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue area, which is just south of Highway 401, for a report of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found the boy near a playground area suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he is listed in serious but non-life threatening condition.
“We’re lucky there is not more injuries because this did happen near a playground,” police said. “It really drives it home, the senseless nature and really the brazen nature of what the suspects have done.”
No information has been released regarding suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
