Pedestrian struck and killed by dump truck on Hwy. 403 in Hamilton

The OPP says a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a dump truck on Highway 403 in Hamilton.

The dump truck remained on scene, but there’s no word on possible charges.

It’s not yet clear why the pedestrian was in live traffic. The victim has not yet been identified.

The eastbound lanes of the 403 were closed at Aberdeen Avenue. The westbound lanes remained open, but were moving slowly.

The highway fully reopened shortly before 9 p.m. after being closed for more than five hours.
