Here’s where Remembrance Day ceremonies will be held across the Greater Toronto Area

The federal government says Canadian flags will return to full-mast at sunset on Sunday. They will be lowered again for Indigenous Veterans Day on the 8th, before going up that night in preparation for Remembrance Day.

With the continued gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions, residents can expect several in-person Remembrance Day ceremonies this year across the Greater Toronto Area.

In 2020, many municipalities opted to hold virtual ceremonies for the broader public while masks and physical distancing requirements were in place for those who were in attendance.

However, provincial public health measures for outdoor events such as the wearing of masks for people who can’t stand two or more metres apart will be in effect on Thursday. Also, anyone who is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 was asked to stay at home.

“Following these health and safety guidelines will allow the City to respectfully conduct its Remembrance Day ceremonies with dignity and solemnity,” a City of Toronto statement on Tuesday said.
