Toronto police say a suspect has been arrested after a 12-year-old dog was stolen near Trinity Bellwoods.
Officers say a woman left the dog outside a Dollarama at around 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Dundas Street West and Dovercourt Street area. A man took the dog and was last seen walking eastbound on Dundas West.
The dog — named Spencer — is described as a Chihuahua mix.
In an update on Thursday, police said the dog has been found safe and returned to its owner and a suspect has been arrested.
William Locke, 39, of Toronto, is facing a charge of theft under $5000.
On Wednesday, police also released an image of a suspect.

Police say the man is wanted for stealing a dog on Nov. 24 in Toronto.
