A man has been arrested and is facing attempted murder charges after firing gunshots at police officers on Saturday.
Toronto Police were called to Hilton Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, east of Bathurst, just before 8 a.m. after reports a car had struck other cars.
It is alleged that a man driving a white Kia Forte struck another vehicle and fled the scene but was located shortly after in a nearby parking garage.
The suspect then allegedly took out a firearm and fired some shots during a struggle with officers. Police say the suspect also took one of the officers conducted energy weapons.
With the help of a citizen he was eventually arrested and a gun was recovered. Some officers were injured in the incident but their injuries are not classified as serious.
Michae Katz, 35, from Toronto is facing numerous charges including two counts of attempted murder.
St. Clair Avenue West was closed in the area while police investigated.
