Woman seriously injured in East York stabbing, 1 in custody

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in East York.

Toronto police were called to O’Connor Drive and Hassard Avenue near Pape Avenue just before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

According to police, paramedics saw the woman walking down the street with multiple stab wounds.

Police say a man is in custody. There is no word on charges.

“A large police presence on scene,” police said in a tweet, adding that the area has been closed off to traffic.
