22-year-old man charged, one dead following double stabbing in Ajax

Durham police say a 22-year-old man is facing charges in the region’s fourth homicide of the year after a domestic stabbing in Ajax on Friday.

Police were called to a home on Bowles Drive, in the area of Delany Road and Church Street North just before 4 p.m.

When officers arrived, they say a male and female victim were found and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the accused was arrested at the scene.

An 18-year-old male was pronounced dead in hospital and the female is in stable condition.

The accused has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault, according to police.

Police say there is no concern for public safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers. Police say tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
