Suspects sought in alleged diamond heist that saw thieves rappel down into Vaughan store

Police in York Region are searching for as many as five suspects that allegedly rappelled down into a store and escaped with several diamonds in a Vaughan jewelry heist.

The investigation commenced on April 18 when police were called to a jewelry store in the area of Weston Road and Highway 7 following reports of a break-in.

Surveillance footage captured four to five male suspects attending the store just before 9 p.m. on April 16. It’s alleged that the suspects had access to the roof and rappelled down inside with the use of a device. They then cut a hole into a safe and stole several diamonds.
