The province is reporting its lowest number of patients testing positive for COVID-19 in the intensive care unit since late November.
While not all hospitals report their data on weekends, Ontario is seeing 865 people with the virus in hospital, a decline compared to the day before, and 114 people in ICU. The last time Ontario saw this number of patients in ICU was November 23, 2021, when there were 111 people in intensive care.
Data shows 40 per cent of hospital admissions in the past day were for COVID-19 and 60 per cent were admitted for other reasons.
Ontario is also seeing an additional 12 deaths reported, which it says includes deaths from the past month and one death from more than a month ago.
The number of new daily cases is up compared to Friday, with 1,144 new infections, however, health officials have advised to multiply that number by 20 for a more accurate picture due to limited access to testing.
In the past day, 11,297 COVID-19 tests have been taken, with an 8.5 per cent positivity rate. That positivity rate is up by .1 per cent compared to the day before, when it was the lowest it has been since late February.
As for vaccinations, in the past day, 20,145 shots went into arms. The total per cent of eligible Ontarians fully vaccinated is 87. Three per cent of Ontarians are partially vaccinated.
