Motorcyclist critically injured on Highway 401 in Pickering

A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash on Highway 401 in Pickering on Friday.
Provincial police say two motorcycles were travelling westbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when one of them side-swiped a vehicle and lost control before colliding with a second vehicle, throwing the rider off his bike.
A 34-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
All westbound lanes of the highway from Westney Road to Brock Road were closed until 11 p.m. as police wrapped up their investigation.
