Man critically injured after being hit by wine bottle near Christie Pits

Toronto police say a man was seriously injured in an altercation with another man who allegedly hit him with a wine bottle near Christie Pits.

Authorities were called to Bloor Street and Carling Avenue, near Ossington station, sometime around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of an altercation between two people.

Police said one man was hit by a bottle. Paramedics tell CityNews the victim is in serious but stable condition.

Officers are searching the area for the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
