Hot, humid, sunny: Perfect summer forecast for the long weekend

Sunny, seasonal and humid. If your plans are taking you outside for the long weekend, pack and apply sunscreen. You're going to need it.

It is shaping up to be the perfect weekend to spend some time outdoors, and if you’re lucky at the beach or by the pool.

CityNews meteorologist Jill Taylor says it will be a hot, sunny, and mostly dry long weekend across the GTA.

“Enjoy the hot and humid conditions, especially Sunday and Monday,” says Taylor. “Not a whole lot of precipitation in the forecast. It’s going to be a hot long weekend.”

The guaranteed high for Friday is 27 C, and the city will see a similar high on Saturday with humidex values around 32.

It will get even hotter as we move through the weekend with daytime highs around 30 C on Sunday and Monday — things will feel closer to 40 with the humidity.

Taylor says it will be mainly dry, with just a slight chance of brief showers on Friday and again on Monday evening.
