Last month, a four-year-old girl was struck and killed by a GO train in the same area. The incident ignited calls from residents to cut off easy access to the tracks.
Residents who live nearby told CityNews shortly after the incident that the tracks were regularly crossed by pedestrians, who use it as a well-known shortcut to save time.
CP crews arrived later the same day to install new fencing and block off an opening in the fence near where the girl was killed.
