Man charged after allegedly sexually assaulting woman shopping at Vaughan mall

A Brampton man was charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman as she shopped with her children at a mall in Vaughan.

York Regional Police were called to Vaughan Mills, located at 1 Bass Pro Mills Drive, around noon on August 24 for reports of an alleged sexual assault at one of the mall’s stores.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, told police she was shopping with her children at the time when an unknown man began talking to her.

Police said the man photographed the woman and her children and allegedly grabbed and touched her in a sexual manner.

The victim and her children were not physically harmed.

Investigators arrested Sunilbhai Modi, 57, of Brampton and charged him with sexual assault.
