One person critically injured in Brampton shooting

A man has suffered critical injuries following a shooting in Brampton.

Police say they were called to Clearfield Drive in the area of Bellchase Trail and Highway 50 just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived they discovered the man believed to be in his 30s suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics say he was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition. He is currently in stable and non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released a suspect description but say a vehicle fled the area with an unknown number of occupants.

Investigators say they believe the shooting was targeted.
