Monarch Park Collegiate in hold and secure following threat

By Dilshad Burman

Toronto police say they are investigating a threat made at Monarch Park Collegiate on Friday afternoon.

The school at Coxwell and Felstead avenues was placed in a hold and secure shortly before 1 p.m.

Officers tell CityNews a teacher called police to report that a student made a threat towards another person at the school.

Earlier in the day, police said they were investigating a hate crime at Monarch Park after a building within the park and another nearby building were defaced with hate-related graffiti on two separate occasions.

However police could not confirm if the school was one of the buildings vandalized.
