Pat Tabler leaving Sportsnet’s Blue Jays broadcast booth after 17 seasons

Pat Tabler will not be returning to the broadcast booth with Sportsnet for the 2023 season.
Tabler played an integral role as a celebrated contributor to Sportsnet’s Toronto Blue Jays broadcast for the past 17 years, helping to grow the game of baseball across Canada.

Tabler joined Sportsnet in 2005 and has been covering the Blue Jays since 1993 after retiring from his playing career.
“For the last 32 years, first as a player for the Blue Jays and then as a broadcaster, it has been my honour to serve you,” said Tabler in a statement. “I hope that I represented you with the class and dignity that you deserve.
“It was a great run, but all good things have to come to an end.”
The 64-year-old played three seasons with the Blue Jays, helping the team win World Series in his final season in 1992.
Tabler’s MLB career lasted 12 seasons and included stops with the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland, Kansas City, and New York Mets. Tabler finished his career hitting .282/.345/.370 with 47 home runs and 512 RBIs, as well as an appearance in the 1987 MLB All-Star Game.
