Suspect arrested after assaulting woman, seriously injuring dog in Toronto

By Lucas Casaletto

A woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting another woman and seriously injuring a dog in separate, random attacks in Toronto’s Danforth Village.

Police were made aware of the first assault in the early-morning hours on Nov. 27, when a 62-year-old woman was walking in the Danforth Avenue West area.

It’s alleged that a woman forcibly shoved her to the ground and fled the area. The victim suffered life-altering injuries as a result.

Around 2 p.m. on Saturday, police said a woman was walking her dog in the Danforth Avenue and Dawes Road area when the same female suspect approached the dog and attacked it before fleeing.

The dog suffered serious injuries but survived, police said.

On Sunday, 48-year-old Elizabeth Windsor, of no fixed address, was arrested. Windsor was charged with assault causing bodily harm and injury to an animal. She appeared in court this morning.

Police are concerned there may be additional victims.
