2 men arrested in Vaughan after impaired driver found asleep in vehicle, drugs and guns recovered

Two men were arrested, and the driver was charged with impaired after police discovered the pair asleep in their vehicle, leading to the discovery of a firearm and narcotics in Vaughan.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, York Regional Police observed a vehicle stopped on the road in the Keele Street and Rivermede Road area, with the driver asleep behind the wheel.
Officers determined the male driver was impaired and located another man asleep in the back seat. When the driver woke up, police said he unsuccessfully attempted to flee. Both men were arrested at the scene, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded gun, a large number of drugs, and cash.
Authorities searched a residence in Toronto, with officers locating ammunition and other drugs.
York police identified both men as 28-year-old Nicholas Baker of Toronto and 28-year-old James Nahshon of no fixed address. Baker was charged with impaired driving, with both men facing other offences, including possession of a prohibited firearm and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
