Bomb squad called to investigate suspicious package at Milton GO bus carpool

Halton police say the bomb squad was called to investigate a suspicious package at a carpool in Milton.
Investigators were called to the GO Transit lot at Highway 401 and Highway 25 around 6:30 p.m. Sunday following reports of “suspicious activity” and a package on a bus.
All of the passengers aboard the GO bus were safely evacuated and one man was taken into custody as the Halton Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) continued to investigate the package.
“Investigation by police and EDU officers determined there was in fact no danger to public,” police tweeted around 10 p.m., adding that the individual in custody had been released without charges.
No further details were provided as to the nature of the suspicious package.
