Toronto police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with assaults and sexual assaults that occurred on the TTC and along a stretch of St. Clair Avenue.

Police were initially called to St. Clair subway station around 3 p.m. on Tuesday for an assault.

Investigators say a woman and the suspect were walking towards each other on a southbound train heading to the station when she was assaulted.

The woman then turned around and started to walk in the opposite direction when she was allegedly followed by the suspect and assaulted again.

Police say the accused then followed another woman as she exited the train when it arrived at St. Clair and assaulted her, continued to follow the victim and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect then left the subway station and entered the vestibule of another building off TTC property, where he allegedly approached a third woman from behind and sexually assaulted her.

The third woman called 911 as the suspect fled the vestibule and walked east on St. Clair, where police say he saw the second woman and sexually assaulted her again.

Jason Jhappan, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Assault, and two counts of Criminal Harassment.
