Man identified in fatal Mississauga shooting

One person has died following a shooting in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police were called to Dream Crest Road and Aliconte Street around 7:15 p.m. on Monday for reports of a shooting.

Officers located one victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Bryan Lara-Alvarez of Mississauga.

Police said this was a targeted shooting, noting there isn’t any evidence that suggests a risk to public safety.

Officers responded to a separate shooting in Mississauga at 1 a.m. in the Cawthra Road and Lakeshore Road area. Two people were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
