A 22-year-old has been charged with murder after what police say was an unprovoked attack against a teenager at Keele subway station late Saturday night.
Police say they were called to the station just before 9 p.m. after reports one person had been stabbed.
Investigators say the teen was on the lower level of the station sitting on a bench when a man approached and stabbed him.
Paramedics transported the teen to hospital via an emergency run with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
He has been identified as 16-year-old Gabriel Magalhaes of Toronto. A growing memorial has been setup just outside the station’s entrance, with people placing flowers, stuffed animals, and messages in honour of Magalhaes.

Police say 22-year-old Jordan O’Brien-Tobin of no fixed address has been charged with first degree murder.
The incident comes almost two weeks after police ended extra patrols on the transit system after they were introduced in late January to help curb violence on the TTC.
