One person has died and another was seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in Brampton late Thursday night.
Ontario Provincial Police say the two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 410 near Steeles Avenue around 11:00 p.m.
A minivan was travelling southbound, approaching Highway 407, when the driver struck an SUV that was also travelling in the same direction. Both drivers lost control of their vehicles and entered the ramp lanes to Highway 407.
The minivan crashed through a concrete wall and rolled over into a ditch next to the ramp lanes.
The driver of the minivan has been identified as a 23-year-old male from Mississauga. He was taken to hospital and remains in serious condition.
The passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
The SUV stopped on the ramp lanes to Highway 407 and the three people inside were not hurt.
The eastbound Steeles ramp on the southbound 410 is closed for the investigation.
No charges have been laid at this time.
