The severe thunderstorm watch was lifted in Toronto and other parts of the GTA, including Mississauga, around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Some regions, including Windsor and Ottawa, remained under that weather alert into Wednesday morning.
Today’s forecast called for sunny conditions to start the day and then scattered showers and thunderstorms developing late in the afternoon. The humidex soared to 38.
The temperature at Pearson International Airport sat at 30 C at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, and it felt more like 36 C with the humidity.
While that humidity will dissipate some on Wednesday, it’s expected to return later in the week, but not before some heavy rain early on Thursday morning, accompanied by strong thunderstorms in Toronto.
Expect rain accumulations of 10 to 15 mm, and it will feel like 36 C on Thursday with the humidex. The sunshine will return on Friday with a slight chance of showers currently forecasted.
